Dalbergia melanoxylon - Dark purple-brown with predominate black streaks which give the
wood an almost black appearance. Extremely fine textured and slightly oily to the touch.
This wood is popular for musical instruments such as clarinets and oboes, and the trees
have been called the Tree of Music. Excellent for ornamental turning and embellishments
on hollow forms and boxes. Beautiful wood.
