Dalbergia latifolia - varies in color from rose to dark purple-brown with darker purple-black
lines. Slightly open grain structure, pores need to be filled to achieve high lustre, but still
looks great with fine sanding and lacquer finish. Not as oily as other Rosewoods and will
sand more easily. This wood has many uses in turning, everything from bottle stoppers,
finials and collars and accents, to elegant looking bowls and hollow forms out of larger
blank sizes.
